Users of online databases licensed by the DTC Library agree to comply by all applicable provisions of federal copyright law (Title 17, USC). Users of electronic resources who violate the Illinois Institute of Technology Computer and Network Usage Policies may lose access privileges and/or be subject to disciplinary action. Downloading, saving, and printing information from these databases is limited to personal, academic use only; all other uses are prohibited. Please see our Online Usage Policy for further information.
The Downtown Campus Library offers students and faculty access to many of its subscription databases from off campus using a program called EZproxy. EZproxy is simple to use and does not require special software or configurations.
To log in to EZproxy directly, click here.
Once you login, you'll be taken back to our Electronic Resources page. To use any remote-access database, click on the link. You'll be connected automatically through EZproxy.
Only current students and faculty affiliated with the Illinois Institute of Technology's Downtown Campus may access our electronic databases remotely. The Downtown Campus includes the Chicago-Kent College of Law, Stuart School of Business, and the Masters of Public Administration program.
Note that access requires a current, valid email address from either Stuart or Chicago-Kent. MPA students may request Chicago-Kent email addresses.
Remotely-accessible databases and journals are designated with a red "R"
on
our electronic resources pages . Descriptions of our electronic resources
can be found here.
Once you find the database you wish to use on our electronic resources page, click its link. If you are using a computer on a campus network, you will not have to do anything else.
If you are off campus, you will be asked for a login name and password. Use the same login and password you use for your school email (not the email address itself). Note that once you are logged in to one electronic resource, you do not have to log in again to use other electronic resources on our electronic resources pages until you close your browser.
You can password-protected resources off campus only if you have been issued your own password (e.g. Lexis or Westlaw). Most password-protected databases and journals are on campus use only.
EZproxy uses a secure certificate that works best with newer browsers (Internet Explorer 5.1 and higher and Netscape 4.51 and higher). If you are using an older browser, you can still use EZproxy by accepting the certificate, but you may lose some features.
If you have any questions or problems, please contact the reference desk. The reference desk e-mail is library@kentlaw.edu and the telephone number is 312-906-5670.
For more information about EZproxy, visit the Useful Utilities web site. Secure Certificate provided by Equifax Secure Certificate Authority (GeoTrust).
